Directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi, this Japanese film stars Atsushi Ito, Chiaki Kuriyama, Erika Toda, Ryo Kase,Ryunosuke Kamiki and Saki Fukuda. It is adapted from the 10-episode hit drama series, “SPEC ~ First Blood”, which is in turn a sequel to the 1999 drama “Unsolved Cases” (“Keizoku”). Saya Toma (Erika Toda) is a genius female detective with an astonishing IQ of 201. Takeru Sebumi (Kase Ryo) is a career detective also known as ‘Bulldog’ and he has a dignified background. They work on cases by advancing the “SPEC” of the unknown criminals and then conclude the criminal’s unknown “SPEC” to make arrests. When a mysterious incident takes place on a cruiser in the ocean that results in the discovery of several dead bodies, Saya Toma and Takeru Sebumi of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department are brought in to solve the case. This is a “must-watch” for all Japanese detective cum mystery filmgoers!
